Butterfly Dancer is my 2004
Hoffman Challenge Entry. This
12 inch fairy has articulated individual fingers, a needle sculpted face and
dances around a velvety flower on her removable wooden base. Her skirt is
the required challenge fabric crinkled and manipulated to mute the large
design of full sized butterfly wings, which would be out of proportion on a
figure this size. Her wings are wired and hand painted an completed with a
metallic gold wash. The black Tibetan Goat skin wig was hand sewn and fit to
her head. Spare fibers were used to grace under her frock as everyone knows
true faeries don't waste time with under garments! |
